A native of northern Spain, Nico Caicoya moved to Madrid when he was ver young. Son of two doctors, he started his directing carer filming his father's operations to be used during his lasses at university. He attended Communications school and acquired much of his experience in film in Spain.
His early commercials for Athletico Madrid earned him two Bronze Cannes Lions, were shown at the Museum of Modern Art in NY and Reina Sophia Museum, in Madrid. He believes the strongest ads are always the result of a great idea but also the collaboration with the agency, the client, and his team. He is a hands-on director with an eye for solutions that support the creative. Nico's diverse output includes campaigns for Nintendo, Vodafone, Coca Coal, Idea, Disneyland, Altetico de Madrid, Turkish Airlines, Nissan, Dodge, Samsung, Panasonic, Movistar, Swisscom, British Telecom, Beeline, Canada Dry, McDonalds, Skoda, Fiat, HSBC, Chrysler, Campari, to name a few. Many of which have won awards in both international and national film festivals.
In 2014 Nico directed and produced his short film Hyena's Blood which has won many critics awards an festival prizes worldwide. Nico is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
