Nico Caicoya with Bully Pictures
A native of northern Spain, he moved to Madrid when he was very young. Son of two doctors he started his directing career filming his father’s operations to be used during his classes at the university. He attended communications school and acquired much of his film experience in Spain.
His early commercials for Athletico Madrid earned him two Bronze Cannes Lions and were shown at the Museum of Modern Art in NY and at Reina Sophia Museum in Madrid. He believes the strongest ads are always the result of a great idea but also a collaboration with the agency and the client and his team. He is a hands-on director with an eye for solutions that support the creative. Nico’s diverse output includes campaigns for Nintendo, Vodafone, Coca-Cola, Ikea, Disneyland, Athletico de Madrid, Turkish Airlines, Nissan, Dodge, Samsung, Panasonic, Movistar, Swisscom, British Telecom, Beeline, Canada Dry, McDonald’s, Skoda, Fiat, HSBC, Chrysler, and Campari. Manny of which have won awards in both international and national film festivals.
In addition to his commercials, in 2014 Nico directed and produced his short film HYENA’S BLOOD which has won many critics awards and festival prizes worldwide. Nico is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
